The first month of 2023 is over! What changes have you made?

Maybe you’re still recovering from the holidays or you’ve been busy with a rush of New Years’ business. Maybe you’ve stood strong in the goal you set and are making improvements towards that goal.
Either way – What can we do to help you get on track or to stay on track? The first few weeks of a goal are led by internal motivation but what is your plan for when life gets busy again or you are feeling unmotivated?
Personally, my motivation is not there every day. I know there are more people out there who can relate to that sentiment. Not every single day is going to look good but if we are unmotivated or “slip up” it does not mean we give up!
If it’s diet, don’t worry! It’s about balance – just move on to the next meal and build back to where you want to be. If it’s the gym, go for a walk – any movement is good movement!
When I don’t want to go to the gym or cook for that day, I start small. I put on a gym outfit I love and start the car – Once I get there I can reason with myself to get started. When I get home and don’t want to cook my dinner – what now? START SMALL. I bring out the ingredients I’m going to need and start with the easiest part. It’s all about baby steps. One inch forward is better than nothing!
Is accountability an issue that you face in reaching your goals? Do you have a hard time convincing yourself to do something that you actually want to do? Grab a friend to join you in your journey. If someone is sharing your same goals and you are working together, you are more likely to succeed. Surround yourself with like minded individuals (a lot of these people can be found within the Golden Ape Family!) and climb the stairs of success together!
So what happens next time you are feeling demotivated or you want to start a new journey but don’t know exactly where to start? START SMALL. No one is perfect and slip ups will happen in everyone’s journey but you just have to get back up and keep moving along.
Progress is not linear but if you stick to the plan you will reach your goals.
